Synergie Australia is seeking a FIFO Controlled Waste Operator/Leading Hand for our National client and waste industry leader located in Barrow Island, North WA!!
The important parts:
- FIFO out of Perth ONLY - Flights, accomodation and meals included!!
- 2:2 Roster
- Flat hourly rate of $61.55 + Leading hand allowance
- 05:30am starts, 12hr days (11.5 hours paid - 30 min break)
What you will be required to do:
- Lead Controlled Waste Operations onsite
- Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or Senior Operator role within Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial Services, or Waste Management.
- Coordinate daily waste collection, segregation, transport, and disposal activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, site waste management plans, and client procedures.
- Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety interactions.
- Monitor workforce performance and promote a positive safety culture.
- Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and fleet maintenance.
- Operate waste management equipment, vacuum trucks, forklifts, and associated plant as required.
- Ensure waste manifests, tracking documentation, and reporting requirements are completed accurately.
- Maintain housekeeping standards across waste management and storage areas.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and environmental performance.
- Support Supervisors and Site Management in achieving project objectives.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Dangerous Goods (DG) Licence.
- A current HR licence (essential)
- A forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Eligibility to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Medical, DAS & Hep A/B vaccines required
