Quality Control
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Conduct raw grading assessment of raw material on receipt in compliance with specification and record in the database
- Conduct finished grading assessment of finished product – where required in compliance with specification as required and record in database
- Optimise utilisation of raw product, plant equipment, manpower and packaging supplies
- Assist with troubleshooting to maximise reliability/efficiency and minimize loss
- Assist in identifying/correcting food safety risks
- Follows safe work practices and Company policies and procedures
- Place product on HOLD when out of specification and follow disposition procedure where required
- Conduct adhoc tests online where required ie; opti-sort, blancher, dryer, waste stream
- Monitor verification records; production, and highlight gaps to relevant staff members
- Carry out random quality checks on the lines ie; weight checks, ingredient traceability, metal detection and highlight any gaps with relevant staff
- Assist with sensory, trial and validation testing where required
- Ensure food safety, authenticity, legality and quality of the product
As a Quality Control Technician you will:
- Have the ability to lift up to 10 kgs and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
- Be exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per workday to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
- Have the Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
