Job Opportunity: Waste Operations Logistics Officer
We are seeking a proactive and organised Waste Operations Logistics Officer to coordinate and support the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and resources across waste operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely service delivery, compliance with operational standards, and optimal resource utilisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily logistics activities including vehicle movements, deliveries, and equipment transfers
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, inventory, and documentation
- Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor logistics performance and identify areas for improvement
- Assist with procurement and stock control
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and policies
- Support emergency or unplanned logistics needs as required
Fleet & Coverage:
- Servicing 25 sites across Shoalhaven, Illawarra, and Sydney
- Managing 20 vehicles and up to 15 contractor vehicles
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations or Logistics, or relevant experience
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., GPS tracking, inventory systems)
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Proof of Australian residency/citizenship or valid work visa
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in local government or waste management logistics
- Understanding of environmental regulations related to waste transport
- Ability to interpret and apply Council policies
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with the local government environment
