WGEA EMPLOYER STATEMENT

Working Together Through Gender Equality and Pay Parity

Synergie Australia has a documented commitment to gender diversity. As an organisation, we report to the WGEA in line with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.

Last year, within Australia, Synergie doubled its service base, joining three of Australia’s most respected recruitment organisations under a single banner. With this expansion, we have truly come of age in the Australian market; this includes our first report under the WGEA.

As a global recruitment organisation, we are committed to anti-discrimination – integrating diversity into Synergie’s values, organisation and service offering. Encompassing disabilities, professional equality, senior workers and social integration, diversity lies at the heart of Synergie’s commitment.

We know we are only at the beginning of our journey. Our 2025 statistics show that 59% of our employees at manager level are female and 75% of our employees below manager level are female. Importantly, we awarded over two thirds of all promotions to women employees.

Our commitment to gender diversity is supported by policies and procedures including:

  • EEO recruitment practices
  • Equal remuneration (including WGEA gender remuneration gap analysis every 12 months)
  • Reporting on pay equity metrics
  • Paid parental leave, including access to time associated with adoption, surrogacy and stillbirth, for both primary and secondary carers
  • Flexible work arrangements.

Beyond our own workforce, we understand that we need to bring our client partners on the equality journey with us. Synergie is an organisation focused on providing opportunities for people looking for flexibility in their work life, often in unskilled and semi-skilled roles. We recognise that many of the organisations we work with for the supply of tradespersons, labourers and machine operators have a far higher representation of men in their workforces.

Employing women in traditionally male dominant roles presents unique challenges. We work closely with many of our client partners to boost female representation in their workforces because we understand that diverse workforces increase productivity, efficiency and safety statistics.

Key solutions for improving gender diversity within our client partners workforces include:

  • Consulting with client stakeholders to build inclusive workplaces, free from discrimination and intimidation
  • Training hiring managers on inclusive candidate assessment and hiring decisions
  • Developing tailored information packs that cover relevant information about the client site
  • Implementing a buddy system (in partnership with the client) which provides additional support for placed workers
  • Connecting women with industry support groups and e-mentoring programs
  • Providing female points of contact within the business to provide ongoing candidate care.

Synergie Australia reaffirms its commitment to creating diverse, inclusive workforces, internally and for our client partners. We will continue to be motivated to improve everyday standards within the working landscape so people can thrive today, and in the future. And we will continue to collaborate hand-in-hand with our clients and candidates to build safe, long-term successes that deliver on our vision: work, together.
